Wilmer Hall is pleased to announce that the Rev. Pete Burgess, who serves as Curate for St. Paulโs Episcopal Church in Mobile, has been named Chaplain for the 155-year-old Episcopal home for children and young adults. The Chaplain role goes back over a century and has been filled by well-known local priests such as the Rev. Hodge Alves and the Rev. Coleman Inge. The Chaplain provides pastoral care to Wilmer Hall residents on an as-needed basis and will lead a spiritual component to the Life Skills training program.
A native of Nashville, Pete studied at Centre College and the School of Theology at Sewanee. After teaching at UMS-Wright, he returned to seminary at Virginia Theological Seminary. He and his wife Emma live in Mobile and are expecting their first child in January.
